Syngonium wendlandii ‘Black Velvet’ is a striking indoor plant prized for its dramatic, velvety foliage. Its long, trailing stems make it especially well-suited to hanging pots, where the plant can cascade elegantly as it grows. The slender, sharply pointed leaves are an intense deep green - almost black in appearance and are beautifully contrasted by bold white veining running through the center. This unique combination of dark colour, refined leaf shape, and soft texture makes Black Velvet one of the most distinctive and eye-catching Syngonium varieties for any indoor plant collection.
What Makes It Special:
✔ Velvety, Near-Black Foliage – The leaves have a rich, soft texture and an unusually dark color that sets it apart from most Syngonium varieties.
✔ Effortless, Low-Care – Thrives in typical indoor conditions, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced plant owners.
✔ Expertly Repotted – Nestled in our premium 5-component soil blend for strong roots and perfect moisture balance.
✔ Locally Grown & Acclimated – Thrives faster and stays healthier, already adapted to your home’s conditions.

Care Guide
Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. It can tolerate medium light, but lower light may slow growth and reduce leaf contrast. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the velvety leaves.
Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Keep the soil lightly and consistently moist, but never soggy. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
Soil: Use a well-draining, airy potting mix - ideally one formulated for aroids, with added perlite or orchid bark for drainage.
Temperature: Thrives in warm conditions between 18–27°C (65–80°F). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C (59°F).
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity, though it adapts well to normal indoor levels. Higher humidity helps maintain lush growth and leaf texture.
Fertilizer: Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted houseplant fertilizer. Reduce or stop feeding in fall and winter.
Growth & Maintenance: Naturally trails, making it perfect for hanging pots. Prune occasionally to encourage fuller growth or to manage length. Can also be trained to climb with support.
Toxicity: Toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and children.
