Its foliage features broad, shimmering silver patches that contrast beautifully against the deep green background, creating an eye-catching metallic appearance.

Compared to the more finely marked Silver Satin variety, Exotica is known for its larger leaves and more extensive silver coverage. Its elegant foliage and versatile growth habit make it a beautiful addition to tropical plant collections and indoor greenery displays.

🌟 What Makes It Special:

✔ Large Silver-Patterned Leaves: Broad, heart-shaped foliage features generous silvery markings against rich green tones.

✔ Velvety Texture: Leaves have a soft, textured surface that enhances their distinctive appearance.

✔ Striking Foliage Contrast: The combination of deep green and shimmering silver creates a beautiful visual effect.

✔ Versatile Growth Habit: Can trail gracefully from hanging planters or climb with the support of a moss pole.

✔ Expertly Repotted: Nestled in our Plantalure Premium 5-Component Soil Blend, carefully selected to promote healthy root development, excellent aeration, and balanced moisture retention.

✔ Locally Grown & Acclimated: Grown in a Canadian greenhouse and cared for under local growing conditions before being offered by Plantalure.

🌿 Growth Habit:

Scindapsus pictus 'Exotica' is an evergreen tropical vine with a climbing and trailing growth habit. Its stems can cascade from hanging planters or climb when provided with suitable support. As the plant matures, its foliage can become larger and more impressive under favourable growing conditions.

🧾 Please Note:

Silver patterns, leaf size, and foliage coloration naturally vary from leaf to leaf. New leaves may emerge lighter and develop their characteristic silver markings as they mature. Provide bright, indirect light to help maintain healthy growth and attractive foliage.

Plant Care Guide

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate medium light, but avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which may scorch its leaves.

Water: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry before watering. Avoid overwatering and ensure proper drainage.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (50–70%), but adapts well to average household conditions.

Temperature: Thrives between 18–29°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.

Soil: Prefers a well-draining, airy aroid mix that retains some moisture while allowing excess water to drain freely.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced, diluted houseplant fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during active growth in spring and summer.

Growth Habit: A trailing or climbing vine with heart-shaped, velvety green leaves adorned with distinctive silver markings. Can be grown in a hanging pot or trained to climb a moss pole.

Propagation: Easily propagated through stem cuttings with at least one node, rooted in water, sphagnum moss, or a suitable propagation medium.

Please Note: Allow the growing medium to partially dry between waterings. Consistently wet soil can lead to root rot.

Seasonal Care Tips

Winter— Canadian winters mean shorter daylight and dry indoor air from heating. If natural light is limited from November through February, a full-spectrum grow light on a 12-hour timer helps maintain healthy growth and prevents etiolation (stretching toward light). Water sparingly once soil begins to dry, keep away from heating vents and cold glass, and use a humidifier or pebble tray to maintain humidity. Keep plants comfortably above 15°C.
