Plant Care Guide
Light: Philodendron verrucosum thrives in bright, indirect light, similar to the dappled sunlight it receives in its native tropical canopy. An east-facing window is ideal, offering gentle morning light without the risk of leaf scorch. Avoid direct sunlight, which can damage its delicate foliage. Position the plant near a bright window, but out of direct rays, to replicate its natural growing conditions.
Water: These plants enjoy consistent moisture but dislike soggy conditions. Water when the top few inches of soil feel dry, ensuring that the soil is evenly moist but not waterlogged. Avoid allowing the pot to dry out completely, as this can stress the plant. Typically, watering once a week is sufficient, but always check soil moisture before watering.
Soil: As a hemiepiphyte, the Ecuador Philodendron naturally climbs trees and can eventually grow without its roots in the soil. To support this growth habit indoors, provide a well-aerated, fast-draining soil mix.
