Plant Care Guide

Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Adequate lighting helps maintain its beautiful variegation. Avoid direct sunlight, as it may scorch the pale sections of the leaves.

Water
: Water when the top layer of soil feels dry. Keep the soil slightly moist but never soggy. Reduce watering during cooler months.

Soil: Use a well-draining, airy mix such as a blend of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark to prevent root rot.

Temperature: Ideal range is 18–27°C (65–80°F). Keep away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. While it can adapt to average indoor conditions, higher humidity encourages healthier growth and larger leaves.

Fertilizer: Feed with diluted balanced fertilizer every 4–6 weeks in spring–summer.

Growth Habit: A climbing Philodendron that benefits from a moss pole or support to encourage larger, more mature foliage.

Maintenance Tips:

  • Wipe leaves occasionally to keep them dust-free
  • Rotate the plant for even growth
  • Prune lightly to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth

Seasonal Care Tips

Winter— Canadian winters mean shorter daylight and dry indoor air from heating. If natural light is limited from November through February, a full-spectrum grow light on a 12-hour timer helps maintain healthy growth and prevents etiolation (stretching toward light). Water sparingly once soil begins to dry, keep away from heating vents and cold glass, and use a humidifier or pebble tray to maintain humidity. Keep plants comfortably above 15°C.
