Philodendron gloriosum 'Tricolor' is a rare and highly desirable collector Philodendron, admired for its exceptional velvety, heart-shaped leaves featuring beautiful variations of green, cream, and pink. Its distinctive tricolour variegation creates an extraordinary visual display, making it a standout specimen for collectors seeking unusual and eye-catching tropical foliage.

Unlike many climbing Philodendrons, Gloriosum is a terrestrial, creeping species that grows horizontally along the soil surface. Its prominent pale veins, luxurious velvety leaf texture, and striking multicoloured foliage make it an especially attractive addition to rare plant collections.

🌟 What Makes It Special:

✔ Rare Collector Plant: A highly desirable variegated form of Philodendron gloriosum, appreciated for its distinctive multicoloured foliage.

✔ Beautiful Tricolour Variegation: Displays a captivating combination of green, creamy white, and pink tones, with patterns that vary from leaf to leaf.

✔ Velvety Heart-Shaped Leaves: Large, luxurious foliage features a soft texture and prominent contrasting veins.

✔ Distinctive Growth Habit: A terrestrial creeping Philodendron that spreads horizontally rather than climbing vertically.

✔ Expertly Repotted: Nestled in our Plantalure Premium 5-Component Soil Blend, carefully selected to promote healthy root development, excellent aeration, and balanced moisture retention.

✔ Imported & Acclimated: Professionally acclimated and established for a healthy transition into your growing environment.

🌿 Growth Habit:

Philodendron gloriosum 'Tricolor' is a terrestrial creeping aroid that produces new leaves along a horizontal stem called a rhizome. Unlike climbing Philodendrons, it grows across the surface of the pot and benefits from a wide, shallow planter that accommodates its spreading growth. With suitable care, its leaves can become increasingly impressive as the plant matures.

🧾 Please Note:

Tricolour variegation, including the balance of green, cream, and pink tones, naturally varies between leaves and individual plants. Colour intensity may also change with leaf maturity and growing conditions. Variegated foliage contains less chlorophyll in lighter sections, so consistent bright, indirect light and appropriate care are important for healthy growth. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight.

Seasonal Care Tips

Winter— Canadian winters mean shorter daylight and dry indoor air from heating. If natural light is limited from November through February, a full-spectrum grow light on a 12-hour timer helps maintain healthy growth and prevents etiolation (stretching toward light). Water sparingly once soil begins to dry, keep away from heating vents and cold glass, and use a humidifier or pebble tray to maintain humidity. Keep plants comfortably above 15°C.
