Care Guide

Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. It can tolerate some gentle morning sun, but avoid harsh afternoon sunlight, which may scorch the leaves. Good light encourages compact growth and blooming.

Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Hoya nummularioides prefers to dry slightly between waterings and does not like sitting in soggy soil. Reduce watering in cooler months.

Soil: Use a well-draining, airy mix. A blend of orchid bark, perlite, and potting soil works well, allowing roots to breathe while retaining light moisture.

Humidity: Average household humidity is sufficient, but it will appreciate moderate humidity (50–70%). Higher humidity can support healthier growth and flowering.

Temperature: Prefers warm conditions between 18–28°C (65–82°F). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 12°C (54°F).

Fertilizer: Feed monthly during spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertilizer. Avoid over-fertilizing, as Hoyas prefer light feeding.

Growth Habit & Support: This Hoya has a trailing growth habit, making it ideal for hanging baskets or shelves. It can also be gently trained on a small trellis.

Flowering Tips

  • Keep it slightly root-bound
  • Provide bright indirect light
  • Do not remove old flower spurs (peduncles), as blooms reappear from them

Pet Safety: Generally considered non-toxic, but best kept out of reach of pets.
