Plant Care Guide

Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light to maintain strong variegation. A few hours of soft morning sun is fine but avoid harsh afternoon sun. Low light will make the creamy tones fade and the plant turn greener.

Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix a blend with peat, perlite, and orchid bark works beautifully.

Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Ensure the pot has drainage holes this plant dislikes soggy roots. Reduce watering slightly during the winter months.

Temperature & Humidity: Loves warmth: 65–80°F (18–27°C).Average household humidity works fine, but it appreciates a little extra humidity in very dry conditions. Keep away from drafts, AC vents, and heaters.

Fertilizer: During the growing season (spring & summer), feed once a month with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Pause feeding in fall and winter.

Pruning: Wipe leaves occasionally to
keep them glossy and healthy. Prune leggy stems if you want a fuller, bushier
look.

Repotting – Repot young plants yearly, older ones every 2–3 years, using a slightly larger pot. Use well-draining soil, adding a layer of expanded clay at the bottom. Transfer the plant, fill gaps with fresh mix, and water well.

Safety:  Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach.

Seasonal Care Tips

Spring
As light returns and growth resumes, move your Ficus to a bright spot with indirect light. Resume regular watering when the top 2–5 cm of soil is dry and begin monthly fertilizing to support new growth.

Summer
Ficus thrives in warm, bright conditions. Water consistently as soil dries faster in the heat. If moving outdoors, transition gradually over 1–2 weeks to avoid leaf scorch from sudden sun exposure.

Fall
As daylight shortens, find a stable warm spot away from drafts and cold windows — and keep it there. Ficus is highly sensitive to being moved; relocating in fall often triggers significant leaf drop. Begin reducing watering and stop fertilizing.

Winter
Maintain the brightest available indirect light and water sparingly. Keep away from cold glass, heating vents, and drafts. Expect some leaf drop as the plant adjusts to lower light — this is normal. Avoid moving the plant once it has settled.
