Alocasia ‘Yellow Marilyn’ is a rare, eye-catching Alocasia prized for its bright chartreuse to lemon-yellow foliage and elegant, sculptural form.

It features elongated, arrow-shaped leaves with softly defined veining that appears slightly deeper green, creating a subtle contrast against the yellow blade. The leaves sit on upright, pale green petioles, giving the plant a clean, modern look that really pops in bright indoor spaces.

Like most Alocasias, Yellow Marilyn has a compact but dramatic growth habit and brings a tropical, statement-plant vibe to any collection. It prefers bright, indirect light (to maintain the yellow coloration), warm temperatures, high humidity, and well-draining soil. New leaves often emerge greener and intensify to yellow as they mature.

Because of its color and rarity, it’s especially popular with collectors and variegated-plant lovers.

Care Guide

Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Too much direct sun may scorch the yellow foliage, while low light can cause dull color and slower growth.

Water
: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Keep the soil lightly moist but never soggy. Overwatering can lead to root rot.

Soil: Use a well-draining, airy mix such as: Potting soil, Perlite or pumice, and Orchid bark or coco chips

Temperature: Best grown in warm conditions between 18–28°C (65–82°F). Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Humidity: Prefers high humidity (60% or higher). Thrives in humid rooms or with a humidifier. Dry air may cause leaf edges to brown.

Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season (spring–summer) with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer. Reduce or stop feeding in fall and winter.

Pet Safety: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats, dogs, and children.
