Care Guide
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves.
Water: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy, and ensure the pot has drainage holes. Avoid standing water.
Soil: Use a well-draining mix, such as potting soil combined with perlite and orchid bark, to promote healthy roots.
Temperature & Humidity: Prefers high humidity (60%+). Increase humidity with misting, a pebble tray, or a nearby humidifier. :Keep in warm conditions between 65–80°F (18–27°C). Protect from cold drafts and heating vents.
Fertilizer: Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Do not fertilize in fall and winter.
Pruning & Dormancy: Remove yellow or damaged leaves at the base. Alocasia Polly often goes dormant in winter: leaves may die back, but the corm stays alive. Reduce watering and resume care when new growth appears in spring.
Repotting: Repot young plants yearly, older ones every 2–3 years, using a slightly larger pot. Use well-draining soil, adding a layer of expanded clay at the bottom. Transfer the plant, fill gaps with fresh mix, and water well.
Safety: Toxic to pets if ingested, keep out of reach of cats and
dogs.
