Alocasia Azlanii is one of the most striking jewel Alocasias in cultivation, prized for its iridescent foliage, deep magenta veining, and metallic colouration. Native to the rainforests of Brunei, this compact species produces thick, glossy leaves that shimmer with shades of deep green, bronze, copper, purple, and near-black depending on the angle of light. Its vivid pink to magenta veins create a dramatic contrast, giving the plant an almost otherworldly appearance.
Despite its compact size, Alocasia Azlanii commands attention with its jewel-like foliage and unique metallic sheen. Its rarity, exotic coloration, and manageable growth habit have made it a favourite among collectors of rare tropical plants.
🌟 What Makes It Special:
✔ Metallic Iridescent Foliage – Leaves display shifting tones of green, bronze, purple, and near-black.
✔ Vibrant Magenta Veining – Bold pink to purple veins create stunning visual contrast.
✔ Compact Jewel Alocasia – Perfect for shelves, plant cabinets, and smaller growing spaces.
✔ Rare Collector Plant – One of the most desirable species among Alocasia enthusiasts.
✔ Locally Grown & Acclimated – Professionally acclimated and established for a healthy transition into your growing environment.
🌿 Growth Habit:
Alocasia Azlanii grows in a compact, upright clumping form with thick, glossy foliage emerging from an underground rhizome. It thrives in bright, indirect light, warm temperatures, and high humidity. A chunky, well-draining aroid mix helps maintain healthy roots while consistent moisture supports steady growth. With proper care, the plant produces increasingly vibrant foliage that showcases its signature metallic sheen and colourful veining.

Plant Care Guide
Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Position near an east or west-facing window. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix—an aroid blend or a mix of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark is ideal.
Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Avoid overwatering, and ensure the pot has proper drainage.
Temperature: 65–85°F (18–29°C).
Humidity: 60%+ preferred, though it adapts to 50%. Boost humidity with a humidifier, pebble tray, or grouping plants.
Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Keep soil evenly moist, but never soggy. Reduce watering slightly in winter when growth slows. Use room-temperature filtered or dechlorinated water if possible.
Fertilizer: Fertilization isn’t required, but it can help promote faster, more vigorous growth especially during the active growing season in spring and summer. Use a balanced, general-purpose houseplant fertilizer once a month during this period.
Always follow package directions and err on the side of caution: over-fertilizing can damage roots and stress the plant. When in doubt, dilute the fertilizer to half strength to avoid buildup.
Repotting – Repot young plants yearly, older ones every 2–3 years, using a slightly larger pot. Use well-draining soil, adding a layer of expanded clay at the bottom. Transfer the plant, fill gaps with fresh mix, and water well.
Pruning: Ring of Fire is a low-maintenance plant that typically doesn’t require pruning. Simply remove old, yellowing, or damaged leaves as they age to keep the plant looking tidy and encourage healthy growth.
Safety: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach.

Seasonal Care Tips
Spring
As light and growth increase, provide bright indirect light, refresh watering when the top 2–5 cm of soil is dry, and maintain steady warmth with moderate to high humidity.
Summer
Protect foliage from intense afternoon sun, water more consistently as soil dries faster, and keep humidity elevated. Avoid hot drafts and temperatures above 30°C.
Fall
As daylight softens, move plants closer to bright filtered light, gradually reduce watering, and keep them away from cool windows and drafts.
Winter
Provide the brightest available indirect light, water sparingly once the soil begins to dry, and maintain humidity while keeping plants comfortably above 15°C. Avoid placing them beside radiators or cold glass.
