Philodendron Painted Lady is a highly sought-after variegated aroid admired for its bright chartreuse foliage, speckled green patterning, and striking pink petioles. Its vibrant colouring and bold variegation make it one of the most eye-catching modern Philodendron hybrids in collector plant collections.
This climbing Philodendron is especially valued for its high-contrast variegation that shifts with maturity, with leaves becoming larger, more textured, and more intensely patterned when given proper support. New growth often emerges in vivid neon tones, gradually developing deeper green speckling as the leaf matures.
Philodendron Painted Lady is perfect for plant enthusiasts seeking a bright, colourful, and highly decorative climbing aroid that brings instant visual impact to any indoor plant collection.

🌿 Growth Habit:
Philodendron Painted Lady is a vigorous climbing aroid that produces increasingly larger and more colourful leaves as it matures. It climbs using aerial roots and benefits greatly from vertical support such as a moss pole. With bright indirect light and consistent humidity, its variegation becomes more vivid and stable over time, while older leaves deepen in green tones.

Plant Care Guide
Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Position near an east or west-facing window. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Avoid overwatering, and ensure the pot has proper drainage.
Soil: Use a well-draining aroid potting mix containing perlite, bark, or coco coir.
Temperature & Humidity: Keep temperatures between 18–24°C (65–79°F). Avoid drafts and heating or cooling vents.
Fertilizer: Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Cut back during fall and winter.
Repotting – Repot young plants yearly, older ones every 2–3 years, using a slightly larger pot. Use well-draining soil, adding a layer of expanded clay at the bottom. Transfer the plant, fill gaps with fresh mix, and water well.
Pruning: If a stem starts producing mostly green leaves, prune back to the last leaf with strong pink variegation to encourage new, colorful growth.
Safety: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach.

Seasonal Care Tips
Winter— Canadian winters mean shorter daylight and dry indoor air from heating. If natural light is limited from November through February, a full-spectrum grow light on a 12-hour timer helps maintain healthy growth and prevents etiolation (stretching toward light). Water sparingly once soil begins to dry, keep away from heating vents and cold glass, and use a humidifier or pebble tray to maintain humidity. Keep plants comfortably above 15°C.
