Care Guide
Caring for Your Plantalure Plant
Every plant from Plantalure arrives expertly acclimated and pre-potted in our premium soil blend — giving it the best possible start. Here's what you need to know to help it thrive.
Acclimatization After Arrival
Your plant has been carefully packaged for transit. Give it 1–2 weeks to settle into its new environment before making any changes to its pot, soil, or placement. Avoid fertilizing during this period.
Our 5-Component Soil Blend
All Plantalure plants arrive in our custom blend, formulated specifically for rare tropicals. Depending on the variety, we use a mix of components such as sphagnum moss, perlite, and LECA/pon. This blend promotes drainage, aeration, and root health — no repotting needed right away.
Anthuriums
Bright indirect light, high humidity (60–80%), water when the top 2–3 cm of mix is dry. Avoid cold drafts. Velvet-leaved varieties prefer lower light than waxy types.
Philodendrons
Adaptable to medium indirect light. Keep evenly moist but never waterlogged. High humidity encourages larger, more dramatic leaves.
Monsteras
Bright indirect light, allow soil to partially dry between waterings. Support with a moss pole for climbing varieties. M. adansonii 'Mint' is sensitive to overwatering.
Alocasias
Bright indirect light, high humidity, and well-draining mix. They go dormant in low light/winter — reduce watering and don't panic if leaves drop.
Hoyas
Tolerate lower light but thrive in bright indirect. Allow soil to dry out more between waterings than other tropicals. Avoid disturbing when budding.
Syngoniums
Adaptable and forgiving. Medium to bright indirect light, keep moderately moist. Variegated forms need more light to maintain their pattern.
General Tips for All Rare Tropicals
- Humidity above 50% is ideal; 60–80% for most aroids
- Use room-temperature water; avoid fluoride-heavy tap water if possible
- Fertilize monthly during spring/summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer
- Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust and improve photosynthesis
