A rare and visually striking houseplant, the Philodendron 'Ring of Fire' is prized for its fiery variegation and serrated foliage. This slow-growing hybrid makes a dramatic statement in any collection with its mosaic of vivid colors. It features long, narrow leaves with deeply toothed edges, splashed with stunning cream and yellow variegation. New leaves often emerge with a bronze tint, giving the variegation a soft pinkish glow.
When young, this plant shines on bright desks or tabletops, adding a pop of color and texture. As it matures, it transforms into a majestic floor plant, growing large and impressive.
If provided with support like a moss pole or totem, Ring of Fire will climb gracefully, showcasing its vine-like growth. However, it also grows beautifully as a self-heading plant, potentially spreading over 3 feet wide with leaves reaching 2 feet or longer.

Care Guide
Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Position near an east or west-facing window. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Avoid overwatering, and ensure the pot has proper drainage.
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix—an aroid blend or a mix of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark is ideal.
Temperature & Humidity: refers higher humidity levels (60%+). Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or mist regularly to maintain optimal conditions.
Fertilizer: Fertilization isn’t required, but it can help promote faster, more vigorous growth especially during the active growing season in spring and summer. Use a balanced, general-purpose houseplant fertilizer once a month during this period.
Always follow package directions and err on the side of caution: over-fertilizing can damage roots and stress the plant. When in doubt, dilute the fertilizer to half strength to avoid buildup.
Repotting – Repot young plants yearly, older ones every 2–3 years, using a slightly larger pot. Use well-draining soil, adding a layer of expanded clay at the bottom. Transfer the plant, fill gaps with fresh mix, and water well.
Pruning: Ring of Fire is a low-maintenance plant that typically doesn’t require pruning. Simply remove old, yellowing, or damaged leaves as they age to keep the plant looking tidy and encourage healthy growth.
Safety: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach.
