Care Guide
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain variegation. Low light can cause reversion to all-green leaves.
Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can burn variegated leaves.
Soil: Use a chunky, well-draining mix: potting soil + perlite + orchid bark.
Repot when root-bound or every 1–2 years, ideally in spring or early summer.
Water: Keep soil evenly moist; allow the top 2–3 cm to dry between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, while under-watering may slow growth.
Temperature: 18–28°C (65–82°F)
Humidity: Moderate, tolerates average indoor levels but thrives with higher humidity. Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or group plants together. Boost humidity with a humidifier, pebble tray, or grouping plants.
Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Keep soil evenly moist, but never soggy. Reduce watering slightly in winter when growth slows. Use room-temperature filtered or dechlorinated water if possible.
Fertilizer: Fertilize every 4–6 weeks during active growth with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
Repotting – Repot young plants yearly, older ones every 2–3 years, using a slightly larger pot. Use well-draining soil, adding a layer of expanded clay at the bottom. Transfer the plant, fill gaps with fresh mix, and water well.
Pruning: Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and improve light absorption. Prune in spring or summer to remove damaged leaves and encourage bushier growth.
Safety: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach.
