Care Guide
Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Position near an east or west-facing window. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix—an aroid blend or a mix of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark is ideal.
Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Avoid overwatering, and ensure the pot has proper drainage.
Temperature & Humidity:
Temperature: 65–85°F (18–29°C).
Humidity: 60%+ preferred, though it adapts to 50%. Boost humidity with a humidifier, pebble tray, or grouping plants.
Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Keep soil evenly moist, but never soggy. Reduce watering slightly in winter when growth slows. Use room-temperature filtered or dechlorinated water if possible.
Fertilizer: Fertilization isn’t required, but it can help promote faster, more vigorous growth especially during the active growing season in spring and summer. Use a balanced, general-purpose houseplant fertilizer once a month during this period.
Always follow package directions and err on the side of caution: over-fertilizing can damage roots and stress the plant. When in doubt, dilute the fertilizer to half strength to avoid buildup.
Repotting – Repot young plants yearly, older ones every 2–3 years, using a slightly larger pot. Use well-draining soil, adding a layer of expanded clay at the bottom. Transfer the plant, fill gaps with fresh mix, and water well.
Pruning: Ring of Fire is a low-maintenance plant that typically doesn’t require pruning. Simply remove old, yellowing, or damaged leaves as they age to keep the plant looking tidy and encourage healthy growth.
Safety: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach.
