Care Guide

Light: Provide bright, indirect light—ideally a few feet from an east-facing window. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf scorch. Rotate the plant periodically for even growth.

Water: Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil dries out. Reduce watering frequency in autumn and winter. Ensure good drainage to avoid overwatering and root rot. Always let excess water drain away.

Soil: Use a well-draining aroid potting mix containing perlite, bark, or coco coir.

Temperature & Humidity: Use a well-draining mix such as potting soil combined with perlite and orchid bark or coco coir. Maintain high humidity (60% or above) using a humidifier, pebble tray, or by grouping plants. Misting regularly helps, especially in dry environments.

Fertilizer: Keep temperatures between 65–80°F (18–27°C). Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature drops. Fertilize every 4–6 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Cut back or stop fertilizing in fall and winter.

Pruning & Maintenance: If a stem starts producing mostly green leaves, prune back to the last leaf with strong pink variegation to encourage new, colorful growth.

Repotting: Repot young plants yearly, older ones every 2–3 years, using a slightly larger pot. Use well-draining soil, adding a layer of expanded clay at the bottom. Transfer the plant, fill gaps with fresh mix, and water well.

Safety:  Toxic to pets if ingested, keep out of reach of cats and dogs.

What to Expect

Each plant comes in its original nursery pot, which is typically 0.5–1 inch smaller than the listed size to ensure it fits neatly into a decorative pot of the same size.

As with all living things, each plant is unique. Natural variation in size, shape, and coloration is to be expected. We do our best to select a plant that closely matches the one shown on our website in the size you've chosen one that’s healthy, beautiful, and ready to thrive in your home.
